I didn't make it to 5

In fact, I went up. But I wasn't surprised. I've been going in cycles of about 3 days and this was the wrong part of it. This morning I was even higher, 139 something. But I have been getting exercise and I have a feeling I'll be less tomorrow. Or I hope so anyway, I don't want to have to eat only 500 calories for the rest of my life.

Last Diet Day

Today was the last 500 calorie day of my diet. I have been pretty good for the last 42 days, tomorrow is the final weigh in. I am hoping for the scale to say 135. it can say 135.8 for all I care, I just want the 5.

I do NOT want to see this:

I have a grocery order, it includes butter, bread, bacon...

And tomorrow my calories will increase to 1,100 or so and my exercise will increase also. On days I might get stuck working & have no exercise maybe I'll stick to the 500 calorie plan, to keep things low.

I will have to figure out a menu similar to this one that I can use and STICK TO.

In horse news:

I hauled 3 horses over to the Triple T Ranch for a 4-H club, all together there were about 10 horses, 15 riders and an hour of free lessons for them. I expected a train wreck but they did awesome and I was pleasantly surprised to see all of them doing so well and sharing ponies. There were a few mistakes but not harm, no foul.

While there I saw Wifi, gave her some more hay, some grain, some scritches and loves. She had a lesson with Delicia today.

Club Meetings

Yesterday Lan & I went to the triathlon club general meeting for the first time in a while, it was about 40 miles from home. I was dressed in my skinny jeans, looking dang good.
The owner of the bike shop where we had the meeting gave a good talk about why you need a bike fit (at his store for $250-$300 each) and then he told us about his heart attack last December.
Wow, a guy who is so fit and healthy too. He is better now but scary.

The bike shop provided cut up veggies for us, yay!!  I was super glad that they didn't have chips & crap.

Tonight I had a SeaSpots Appaloosa Club meeting over at The Riding Place. Just Sue & 1 other lady attended. I paid dues for Lan & I for the year and my Penny-A-Mile fees except I didn't tell Sue how many miles I've gone yet. Added them up, so far I've ridden 39.25 miles without counting miles, rides or time on Wifi or during lessons. Anna, who is 8 or 10, has ridden over 300 miles so far this year, shes super cute and way more serious about riding than I could ever be. I hope I take second, behind her.

Somehow Meghan will still find a way to get more miles in the saddle than I have, no matter what.

Diet:
Today was our forty first day, first day without the hCG injections. I have lost 18.2 pounds and gone down 2 pants sizes and look & feel pretty good. No more muffin top, or at least if I suck it in while in public and not slouching.

Its time to start getting some exercise, stretching and working out. Today, tomorrow & Friday we will still be on the 500 calorie diet, after that we will increase; me up to 1,100 - 1,200 calories per day. Lan will need more as he works out harder.

I sent in my registration papers & $75 fee for TriBabes so I can join in without feeling like a mouch.

Wifi has been moved over to the Triple T Ranch, the place Lan and I made an offer on last winter. Poor girl, shes standing in water. She would be in mud but she HATES mud so wont even walk in the wet dirt. Thank goodness I can go over & lunge her all I want. Maybe I could actually ride her tomorrow too. I'll take my saddle over.

I want to bring her home, do NOT like her being wet. Its bullshit. But Delicia thinks I need to give her more of a chance to be away from home.

Losing Horses

Last week one of the boarders told me she will be leaving the barn, today another one told me she will be leaving too.
OK, I got what I wished for.
They are both pain in the asses, seriously.  Don't turn my horse out with that one, Don't do this, do that. Well, ladies, you are more than welcome to leave. So go & don't let the barn doors hit you in your ass on the way out.
I wonder if either of them realize they are supposed to give me 30 days notice? I know Teri doesn't.
So it will be Sarah with Renata and my 3 horses. Except I just moved Wifi over to another barn with an indoor arena.
Great, I have no income for hay & now an additional $350 going out.
But I won't have to listen to these women bitch again and I know Rena will get sick and tired of Pages BS fast enough.
And Teri will fuck up pretty fast with her mare and that's too bad for the mare.
Good riddance.

Dieting

I've been on a strict diet for the last 5 weeks, 500 calories per day.

Coffee or tea for breakfast, no food.

Lunch is 100 grams of protein, 1 serving veggies & 1 serving fruit & a few small pieces of Grissini bread.

Dinner is the same as lunch.

I have lost 17 lbs. so far. My diet restrictions of 500 calories per day will end in 5 days, then go up to 1200 per day. I will be FEASTING then!

These are all meals I have eaten in the last month and believe it or not, its enough food. Yes, I'm losing weight but this is enough to fill my stomach just enough so Im not hungry.

After 3 weeks of the maintenance diet I will slowly add in carbs & sugar and at the end of the 4th week I will begin another 3 weeks of the 500 calorie diet. Because even though I have lost more than 10% of my body weight already, I want to get down to 130 lbs.

I started out at 156.4 pounds, I have lost 17, I am now 139.4 (as of this morning) and I have 5 days to lose more weight. I doubt I'll get down to 135 before the end of the original 40 days but I am right on track of where I though I'd be.

Now I will be able to start running again, riding my bike again, swimming again. It won't be so dang hard to climb hills either at a run or on my bike. Yes, I will gain weight back, much of it should be muscle. but I've gotten rid of a lot of FAT.

And I've learned that I don't NEED to eat so much food and not nearly as much junk food.

Legitimate Bitch

On my last post I said I had 2 friends racing over the weekend. Amanda did the marathon and T, a woman I've never met but is in our area & I'm guessing is part of our local club, did the Galveston Half Ironman.

Amanda has been pretty low key about it which is normal for her, mostly it was her friends who bragged her up & that's fine.

But you CAN control what YOU say.

T's first post race Facebook post:

70.3 MILES...DONE!! I'm an 'IRONMAN'!!

Um, no, you're NOT an Ironman.
You finished a half Ironman, not a full. They did not call you an Ironman at the finish of your race.

She also had a lot of people saying how fast her bike time was. OK, its basically FLAT. The biggest climb is 25 feet in elevation. Not 250, just 25. Those are rolling hills, not HILLS in any way, shape or form.

This is only 202 in elevation gain.

Compare Galveston to Florida, which everyone talks about how FLAT it is and you can see there is a climb of about 100 feet. THAT is considered FLAT.

Compare both of these to Ironman Coeur d'Alene, which, by the way, you get to do two laps.

1155 elevation gain in EACH lap. Those are hills. The best part is the 3 miles of 6% upgrade and that wonderful DOWN, right before you do another big ass UP again.

So T, once again, you are NOT and Ironman, Bitch.

And I call you Bitch because you outted my friend, who IS an Ironman, who did complete and finish a full distance 140.6 Ironman in CDA, not some flat spot without any hills.

When Friends Race

I have a couple friends who raced today and another racing tomorrow. Amanda did the Yakima Canyon Marathon, its a point to point and the only spot you can see the runners is at the 5 mile marker.

I didn't go but Windy did to cheer her on. Her time was 6:52. Not bad, not bad at all. Her course was windy & hilly.

Now here comes the bragging:

I did my 1st full marathon on December 31, 2011 in 5:44:58. It was a flat course.

And my marathon at Ironman Coeur d'Alene was
6:56:04

This was AFTER swimming 2.4 miles and biking 112 miles.

This is Icky

Yesterday my horse kicked one of my boarders. She said she was just checking something on her own horses leg...

Hi. Would have written to you sooner but I think I have a cracked rib and I wasn't sure I could sit at the computer. Last night I went into the arena with Handy and Joey because I thought I saw a cut on Handy's back leg. Joey wouldn't let me near Handy at first and then I got him to move off. I turned to look at Handy and Joey came right up behind me. I turned around and motioned him off and he spun around and back kicked. He hit my left leg and I turned and he hit my right calf. I went down hard and he moved away. I knew I hadn't broken anything so I got up and drove home. That's when I took my jeans off and saw my leg split open. You know the rest. I am going to the doctor at three about the rib. Don't worry, I am comfortable and can take some sick days. I will talk to you soon.

I've known for a while now that hes getting mean but this takes the cake. I've talked about this with my trainer and we're going to work on his attitude. Asshole. FUCK.

But in other news:
I sold 2 loads of composted manure today for a total of $150 this week and have another scheduled for tomorrow morning. This money is going to go toward gas for the Mustang Parade in Woodburn, Oregon in 2 weeks and to get us to the LaMay car show in Tacoma in 3 weeks.

Other horse news:
I'll be taking my Pessoa Saddle and all its trimmings to Issaquah to maybe sell them tomorrow. I've had it for 18 years, its a damn nice saddle with a 100 year warranty. That's cool. I'm asking $1,000 for it and won't go less than $800 minimum. I paid $1600 for it. I will not let her talk me down any lower & I wont let her buy JUST the saddle as I have no use for the trimmings.

Injuries from horses

Got a text today, my horses kicked & knocked down one of the boarders. She's an older lady, already in pain from a surgery gone bad somehow. She's been frail and basically an invalid for the last year.
Anyway Joey hurt her when he knocked her down, then she found a slice on her leg & went to the hospital to get stitches.
We do not have insurance for this kind of thing and I'm sure in Washington State you can't sue for it either, you are supposed to expect horses to hurt you. But damn it all anyway.
I had Joey & her horse out in the arena together for the day because if I put her horse  out with the mares he is too studdy. At least with Joey he can run and play, and play they do, they rear up and strike & kick but never (ok, hardly ever) hurt each other.
I feel really bad but I'm also scared. I'm scared she's going to sue us and life as I know it could come to a crashing end.

In other news: There was a dead body found in the water at our dock today. Dude was in trouble for child porn, he did the right thing.

In other news: We have 5 people who want compost. I've been selling it for $50 per truck load and some of it is damn nice shit. 2 years old & not a turd to be seen, nice black dirt now.
