Twisted
Twisted my ankle again today, not bad but enough to feel it, stumble and know its not good.
While at PT yesterday she gave me exercises to do, they need to work, and fast.
I think I'll do the Race For A Soldier this weekend but only the 5k.
I want that metal.

Third Race Cancelled
I had SO hoped to become a Half Fanatic but PF has me sidelined and today at PT she told me I CAN'T do this Sundays Race For A Soldier. Theres $65 down the drain. I might do it anyway, walking. With compression socks. And if its too much I can always catch a ride with the sag wagon.

Holding My Breath
Suzie hasn't gotten back to me yet about her early registration slot for IMAZ so I'm still not 100% sure if I'll be getting it or not but I'm already planning things. Diet, exercise plan, logistics.
I'm TRYING to lose weight now but that's just not happening but I am slimming down. Shakeology once a day plus 4-5 other small meals with some protein at each meal. Some of those meals might just be 12 almonds but that's keeping my metabolism going. Lan thinks I need to eat less but I've been reading more and more about menopausal women needing to eat more. I'm eating less but its better for me food more often.
I'm once again going to use the plan I had for my previous Ironmans. I'm not going to hire a coach and have them give me a plan that's just like this one or not as good and I only have to be accountable to ME. I'm not going to lie to anyone or myself and say I've been riding 76 miles when I only went 45. If I don't do a workout it will only be ME who suffers.
The plan is really good, it doesn't say RIDE YOUR BIKE 45 MILES or RIDE FOR AN HOUR, it actually gives me a workout to do, most on the bike trainer.
20:00 getting into it, watching your HR slowly get above
60%
2 x20:00
@75% w/5:00 @60-65% in between
BIKE 0:30 Immediately after the run...hold the intensity @70-75%
RUN 0:50 I'm going to ask you to really challenge yourself here -- time to up the tempo and close out your week with a bang. Remember, you've got tomorrow off, so go out there and make this a strong effort.
You'll be starting with a fast tempo right out of the blocks: 2 x 15:00 above 80% w/10:00 @60% after each
Run 6.6 miles /1:20
Bike 14 miles / :50
Run 4.0 miles / :50
The above workout was in week 27, which was a 'competitive season' week. Not only did I use the training plan but I also kept track of how much time & miles I completed, and for the bike I rode more than 2283 miles between Christmas and IMAZ 11 months later. About 400 miles run and only 20 miles swam.
I'll be honest here, I could have trained a lot more, with my work schedule all jacked up due to working odd hours, I missed a lot of workouts. This time it can be different. If I just do 50% of the missed ones in addition to the ones I did, I'll be flying high.
But this fucking plantar fasciitis needs to get better. This is so fucked up.

Sunday RUN 1:10
You might find it helpful to mentally break
this run into 35:00 chunks. I always find that to be more manageable than a
full hour, for some reason, and it helps maintain the focus throughout this
longer duration.
Spend the first 2 x

IMAZ 2017
A text conversation I had with my friend, Suzie this morning, at about 3:15am...
Suzie: Hey, are you serious about IMAZ 2017?
Suzie: I may do Chatty
Suzie: And give you my early registration
Me: I am very serious about it. Let me know asap so I can start saving for it!
Suzie: I'd plan on it. Right now I'm 80% certain that I won't be doing IMAZ, but either Chatty or Maryland
So this is where we are right now. I don't have $1,000 cash for the registration fee and insurance and I'm saving for Hawaii right now with only about $500 in that kitty and we leave in 3 weeks. Ugh. I'll need to have the money ready in Mid-November.
I DO have another check between now and Hawaii and another in Hawaii but those will be smaller than what I'm currently getting. Down from $1,820 to $1,320 with different work shift and position. But hey, at least I'm making a steady check all winter instead of weeks without ANY pay at all like all past years.

Filling In
This girl,
Is filling that gigantic hole left in my heart when Hagen died. She's learning how to be a dog, not just a pup, she's learning to respond in the way we want. She's gentle and rough at the same time.
She makes me smile.
And the newest addition to the farm, chicks.
Probably both roosters but I'm hoping for a hen to brood eggs for me.
Then there is this new round hay bale holder. Got it yesterday at Tractor Supply for $185.
See all the hay spread out? That's what the horses ruined in 1 day with the whole bale available to them. This hay feeder should pay for itself pretty fast. I throw their alfalfa flakes right in there with the grass.
Enough room for them to share.
Tri related:
Lan is set to do the Black Diamond Long Course tomorrow at Enumclaw. He should do well but it is such a huge and competitive size A/G that he will still only come in 5th place. I'd LOVE to see him podium!!!
To make it a bit easier for him, I have filled the car with gas and stashed a $20 in the car for his after race lunch.
I signed up too but I'll be working a 13 hour day and my $200 registration fee is paying for Terry, Lilly & Brayden to enjoy MY race. I won't even get a fucking tee shirt.
At work:
I'll be working at Southworth dock for the fall/winter/spring season. Bremerton no longer offered the on-call days off I want and Southworth does so its there that I'lll be working. A 30 hour shift, 8pm-2am Saturday thru Wednesday with Thursdays & Fridays off. And most of all other days too, since I'll be working nights. Landing only 4 boats, all going to the same places in the same order.
I'm sure I'll be the one to mop floors and take trashes out, sweeping the dock and other shit like that. I hope the captain isn't an asshole.

God Damn Bullshit
I'm trying so hard to lose weight, so hard. Eating the right foods, barely anything that isn't diet food, I'm using the measuring cups from Beach Body, I'm replacing breakfast with their shake. I'm doing a minimum of 30 minutes workout every day for the last 10 days
(except yesterday and last Monday, when I sprained my ankle and had to go to ER)
and this morning I weigh
FUCK.
What more can I do?
I've had to modify my workouts due to the ankle, its still a little swollen and I'm being careful on it but I've still done workouts on it and sweating.
At this rate I'll die starving and weighing a ton.
Beach body offers a refund if you're not happy with it after 30 days and that refund is looking better and better every fucking day.
